Some of my greatest childhood memories were spending hours picking fruits and vegetables under the Florida sun with my dad growing up…well, I spent my time eating the harvested while my dad did majority of the work.

In April 2018, my dad unexpectedly passed away. It was just six weeks after I became a mom and only a few months after leaving the Marine Corps. I had closed so many chapters of my life all at once, and I wasn’t sure where I belonged anymore.

A few years later, my husband suggested that I start gardening as a way to feel close to my dad again. So I planted two little jalapeño plants, and those two plants grew into enormous bushes. And somewhere along the way, they grew something in me too. Every morning my daughter and I would hurry outside to see what had changed overnight. We’d celebrate every new pepper, every new blossom, every tiny sign of growth. Then we’d bring our harvest inside, where Dylan would turn it into something delicious for our family. Before we knew it, gardening wasn’t just a hobby, it had become part of who we were. Every year the garden grew a little bigger, and so did our love for it.

While my daughter and I were falling in love with growing food, Dylan was making fresh flowers part of our family’s traditions. Every time we passed a roadside flower stand, he’d pull over and surprise us with a bouquet.

When I got pregnant with our second daughter, I decided it was finally time to grow flowers too. What started as a simple idea is slowly became a dream. We often found ourselves talking about what it would be like to someday sell flowers that we had grown together…to become part of someone else’s traditions the way those flower stands had become part of ours over the years.

Today, that dream is Brodie Blooms.

Rooted in love, Brodie Blooms is built on the belief that flowers have a way of bringing people together. Whether it’s through a bouquet, a bloom bar, or a flower crown, my hope is to create moments that people will remember long after the flowers have faded.

Each season, our garden grows more of the flowers you’ll find in our bouquets, bloom bars, and flower crowns. As Brodie Blooms grows, so does my dream of sharing even more blooms grown right here at home. When our garden can’t provide everything we need, I carefully choose flowers from other growers to bring your vision to life.

My dad taught me that some of life’s sweetest moments are found with your hands in the dirt while children run around barefoot, eating majority of your harvest. And Dylan reminded me that flowers don’t need a special occasion to make someone feel loved. Together, they’ve inspired something I hope will bring joy to other families as well.

More than anything, I hope my daughters grow up knowing that even the biggest dreams can begin with something as small as a seed. With hard work, faith, and a whole lot of love, beautiful things can grow.
